CommScope launches SYSTIMAX Constellation enterprise power and data platform.
CommScope, a leading provider of network infrastructure, has introduced its cutting-edge SYSTIMAX Constellation platform designed to facilitate the connectivity and power requirements of tomorrow's highly interconnected businesses.
This innovative system integrates fault-managed power, a hybrid power/data fiber solution, and ceiling-mounted Constellation Points arranged in a star topology. This unique configuration enables the seamless connection of an extensive array of network devices and systems.
In contrast to conventional structured cabling networks, the Constellation platform features a significantly streamlined architecture that is both modular and adaptable to various technologies. This design optimizes component usage while accommodating both integrated and segmented networks, AC and DC power needs, and diverse connectivity standards. Consequently, the Constellation platform empowers enhanced power delivery and faster data speeds to a broader range of devices. Additionally, it occupies less space and contributes to a reduced carbon footprint for the network. This platform stands as an unparalleled solution for the rapid and efficient deployment of the upcoming generation of enterprise edge networks.
The system harnesses fault-managed power technology, enabling the efficient transmission of more power over less copper compared to traditional power solutions. Employed within a star network topology, this approach extends service coverage from equipment rooms, furnishing 10G speeds and 1kW power delivery to an expanding collection of connected devices within densely populated urban settings.
Leveraging a distributed star topology, the Constellation platform extends services from equipment rooms to designated service areas or zones, effectively supporting nearby devices. The platform's simplified architecture can substantially reduce the usage of copper and plastic in the network, sometimes by nearly 60%. Moreover, its installation process can considerably cut down on labor hours—by over 50%—in contrast to conventional systems.
Jack Carlson, Senior Vice President of the Enterprise Business Unit at CCS, CommScope, explained, The Constellation platform caters to the escalating demands of our clients who are striving to establish and enhance IP networks in response to the urban density growth and the proliferation of interconnected devices.
He further added, By adopting a modular, technology-agnostic solution for this challenge, we provide our clients with expanded choices to incorporate connectivity and power into the network edge. This is achieved in a manner that is not only cost-effective and scalable but also environmentally sustainable.
